Gravity Payments is a U.S. merchant-services provider that helps businesses accept and manage electronic payments. This independent article is not affiliated with Gravity Payments and cannot access or change any merchant account.
Existing merchants should begin at the company’s Merchant Logins page, not assume that every Gravity Payments customer uses the same portal. The correct destination may depend on the business’s merchant ID, payment setup or legacy processing system.
What Is Gravity Payments?
Gravity Payments provides card-processing services, payment hardware, online payment options and software integrations for businesses. Its merchant offerings can support in-person transactions, online payments and card-not-present activity.
It is not a consumer wallet or peer-to-peer money-transfer account. A person who sees “Gravity Payments” on a receipt, invoice or business payment page may be dealing with a merchant that uses Gravity behind the scenes.
For merchants, the more important distinction is between the processor and the software interface. Gravity Payments may provide the processing relationship while a merchant uses Gravity Dashboard, Gravity Portals, ChargeItPro, an integrated point-of-sale system or another account console.
One name. Several routes.
How to Find the Correct Gravity Payments Login
The official Merchant Logins page is the safest starting point because it separates the available account systems. It includes Gravity Dashboard, ChargeItPro options, a legacy gateway console and other merchant tools. It also lets users identify a login route using their merchant ID.
Your merchant ID can be found in the installation email sent to the business or in the upper-left area of a merchant statement, according to Gravity’s account-management documentation.
Use this order:
- Open the main Gravity Payments website.
- Find the Merchant Logins page.
- Select the system associated with the account.
- Use the merchant-ID selector when the correct platform is unclear.
- Contact support when the listed systems do not match the business’s records.
Do not search for an isolated login URL and choose the first similarly named result. Searches for “Gravity login” regularly surface unrelated products, including WordPress tools and other companies using the word Gravity.
Another practical issue appears after ownership changes. A business may retain the same terminal or storefront while its authorized account contacts, email access or user permissions have changed. In that situation, the portal itself can be working correctly even though the new operator cannot see the expected account.
What Gravity Dashboard Includes
Gravity describes its Dashboard as a centralized place for viewing and managing payment activity. The homepage can provide recent transaction information, batch history and sales-performance data, while eligible accounts can use an integrated Virtual Terminal.
The live login page also identifies several merchant functions, including:
- reviewing transaction history
- viewing activity across multiple locations
- printing previous receipts
- using transaction filters
- accessing monthly statements
These functions may not appear identically for every user. Access is controlled partly through account roles and permissions.
For example, Gravity’s current user-settings documentation lists Statement Viewer as a separate permission that requires either a Merchant Admin or Merchant User role. It also lists Virtual Terminal Admin as a permission for accounts where the Virtual Terminal has been enabled.
This produces a frequent support problem: one manager can see statements while another manager using the same business account cannot. The missing menu is sometimes a permission issue, not a browser failure.
Check roles first. Skip repeated reinstalls.
How Monthly Statements Are Accessed
Gravity’s statement instructions say merchants receive an automated email when a new statement is ready. Inside Gravity Dashboard, the user can select Statements from the left-side panel to view current and historical processing statements.
When the Statements option is absent, verify whether the user has Statement Viewer access. An administrative title alone may not provide that permission.
Statements are important because they show more than a deposit amount. They can help a business identify processing charges, transaction categories, adjustments and other account activity covered by the merchant agreement.
Do this before calling about an unfamiliar charge: identify the statement month, the listed charge description and the related batch or deposit date. Do not rely only on a bank-account description, which may provide less context than the processing statement.
The specific pricing and statement layout can vary by account.
Transactions, Batches and Bank Deposits
A transaction is an individual payment event. A batch is a group of transactions prepared for settlement. A bank deposit is the resulting funding entry after the processor and financial institutions complete the relevant settlement steps.
Those figures may differ.
A point-of-sale sales total can include activity that is later voided, refunded or moved into another settlement period. A batch may close after the business day ends. A deposit can also reflect account adjustments or processing arrangements documented in the merchant statement.
Gravity Dashboard provides transaction and batch history to help merchants compare these records.
When a deposit appears incorrect, compare records in this sequence:
- individual transaction activity
- the closed batch total
- the settlement or funding date
- the processing statement
- the bank entry
That sequence is more useful than comparing gross register sales directly with one deposit. Multi-location merchants should also confirm which location is selected because Gravity’s tools can display transaction data across locations.
Using the Gravity Virtual Terminal
A virtual terminal is a browser-based tool that lets an authorized merchant enter card-not-present transactions without using a physical card reader. Gravity says its virtual-terminal tools can support remote payment activity from devices such as a computer, smartphone or tablet, depending on the merchant’s setup.
Within Gravity Dashboard, eligible users can find Virtual Terminal in the left control panel. Gravity documents supported actions including Sale, Authorization, Capture or Force, and Void or Refund.
The user permission is separate from the availability of the product. A merchant account must have the Virtual Terminal enabled, and the user must have the appropriate access. Gravity’s permission documentation distinguishes ordinary transaction capabilities from administrative virtual-terminal functions.
Void and refund actions also differ. Gravity’s published workflow directs users to the Void/Refund tab and provides a transaction search function. Multi-location accounts are instructed to choose the appropriate location before finding the payment.
Prioritize the original transaction record. Skip creating a new offsetting payment unless the business’s documented procedure specifically requires it.
Payment Links and Gravity Portals
Gravity Dashboard can also support payment links for eligible users. The company’s instructions direct users to Payment Links in the left navigation, followed by Create Link, where a single-use or multi-use link can be selected.
Gravity Portals is a related but different product. It provides a customizable customer-payment and presentment portal, including self-service workflows for participating businesses.
The distinction is useful:
| Tool | Primary purpose |
|---|---|
| Gravity Dashboard | Merchant reporting, transactions, batches and account tools |
| Virtual Terminal | Authorized card-not-present transaction entry |
| Payment Links | Sending a hosted payment route to a customer |
| Gravity Portals | Customized customer billing and payment experience |
Availability depends on the merchant’s selected products and permissions. Seeing one tool in marketing materials does not confirm that it has been enabled for a particular account.
Gravity Payments Pricing and Effective Rate
Gravity currently publishes flat-rate pricing of 2.5% plus $0.10 per transaction or less on its pricing page. The company also offers customized payment-processing arrangements, so this public figure should not be treated as the exact cost for every merchant, transaction type or integrated system.
Gravity’s merchant page provides an effective-rate calculator based on monthly card sales and monthly card-processing fees. Effective rate is the average percentage of processing fees compared with card sales for the period entered.
A useful calculation is:
Monthly processing fees ÷ monthly card sales × 100
That percentage can help compare periods, but it does not explain every fee by itself. Card mix, card-present versus card-not-present activity, refunds, monthly charges and the merchant’s pricing structure can change the result.
Third-party reviews sometimes publish fees found in sample contracts. Those figures should not be presented as Gravity’s universal pricing because merchant terms may differ and older agreements may not reflect current offers. The signed agreement and current statement remain the account-specific sources.
What to Do When Login Fails
Begin by confirming that the correct portal is being used. The Gravity Payments account page lists multiple systems, while the Gravity Dashboard login page contains its own Reset password option.
Gravity Dashboard also supports multi-factor authentication. Its documentation says users who have not configured MFA may be redirected to complete setup after attempting to log in.
A redirect is not automatically an outage.
Check the following before escalating:
- Is the page the Gravity Dashboard or another listed portal?
- Does the business use a legacy gateway?
- Was the account email changed?
- Is MFA setup being requested?
- Does another authorized user have different permissions?
- Is the system-status page reporting an incident?
Gravity provides an official status page for Gravity Dashboard and other listed services.
Avoid repeated attempts when access continues to fail. Gravity’s account documentation directs merchants who need password help to technical support, and account-specific ownership problems generally require verification through official channels.
Contacting Gravity Payments Support
Gravity’s support page currently lists round-the-clock multilingual assistance in English, Spanish, Korean and Japanese. It also provides access to the support library and an online support route.
Contact support when the problem involves:
- an unknown merchant login system
- account ownership or authorized-user changes
- a missing processing statement
- terminal or gateway configuration
- funding or batch discrepancies
- permissions that an administrator cannot correct
- a deactivated merchant account
Gravity’s developer documentation includes specific processing errors that require support. For example, error 00007 indicates that a merchant has been marked inactive, while error 00008 can indicate an inactive account or batch synchronization problem.
Record the error wording and the time it occurred. Do not send private account credentials or payment details through an unverified contact channel.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Gravity Payments only for businesses?
Yes. Its core services are merchant payment-processing products.
Where is the Gravity Payments merchant login?
Use the Merchant Logins page on the main Gravity Payments website. It lists Gravity Dashboard and other supported merchant systems, including legacy tools, and can route merchants according to their merchant ID.
Where can I find my merchant ID?
Gravity says the merchant ID appears in the installation email or in the upper-left section of the merchant statement.
Why is the Statements menu missing?
The user may not have Statement Viewer permission. Gravity treats that permission separately and requires it to be combined with an eligible Merchant Admin or Merchant User role.
Can I take a payment through Gravity Dashboard?
Eligible merchant accounts can use the Virtual Terminal within Gravity Dashboard. The account must have the feature enabled, and the user needs suitable permission before the Virtual Terminal appears in the left-side controls.
Does Gravity Payments offer payment links?
Gravity publishes Dashboard instructions for creating single-use and multi-use payment links. Feature availability can depend on the merchant account and user permissions.
Is Gravity Dashboard the same as Gravity Portals?
No. Dashboard focuses on merchant payment activity and account tools, while Gravity Portals provides a customized customer-facing billing and payment experience.
How do I check whether Gravity Payments is down?
Review the official status page linked through Gravity’s support resources. When no incident is shown, verify the selected portal, MFA setup and user permissions before treating the issue as a platform outage.
